Independent bookstores foreverrrr!! I also love The New York Review for finding new books. Idk what category it would fall into...not really a major book list but not not major? Their reviews are always so interesting and the books they publish are a vibe (+lots of books in translation).
Truly independent bookstores til I die (& beyond!!!) New york review is a GREAT rec, thank you for the reminder! I dont go to that one enough... I also love the new yorker book/fiction content, but the list was getting long! Lol. Thanks for reading! Means a lot <3
Popped over here from Sarah Fay's gathering to meet a fellow bookish person. 👋 After writing on Substack for awhile and meeting people here, I find I'm compiling a to-read list from Substack authors. It's pointing me to books I would not have noticed otherwise. I finished Evelyn Skye's Damsel and am now reading Andrew Boryga's Victim (off to a great start). Next up is a book by Susan Wittig Albert. These are all Substackers I've met by writing and reading here. It's a more eclectic way of finding books than a list, but so far a satisfying one! I look forward to reading more of your posts!
